The Argentine Government commemorates the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust at the House of Cultures in Resistencia, Chaco. The event is organized by the National Secretariat for Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism and the Government of Chaco Province, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship and the Ministry of Education.
With a view to federalizing remembrance actions, this year Chaco will become the third province to host this event, previously held in Buenos Aires (2016) and Santa Fe (2017).
There will be addresses by the Secretary for Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism of the Argentine Republic, Claudio Avruj; the Secretary for Worship of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Ambassador Santiago Manuel De Estrada, and the Governor of Chaco Province, Domingo Peppo. In addition, a group of local artists will offer musical and theatrical performances.
Pursuant to United Nations resolution 60/7, 27 January is an annual day commemorating the liberation in 1945 of the Nazi extermination camps of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
